Lecture Abstract:

The management of the extraction site is a critical step in modern implant dentistry, influencing both hard and soft tissue stability as well as long-term esthetic and functional outcomes. This lecture will review the biological events that follow tooth extraction and discuss clinical decision-making from socket preservation to advanced reconstructive approaches. Emphasis will be placed on the critical factors that influence treatment planning and clinical outcomes, including defect morphology, timing, and implant positioning, among other factors.
