The Saudi Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry (SSPI) participated for the first time in the 11th European Federation of Periodontology Congress (EuroPerio11), held in Vienna, Austria, from May 14 to 17, 2025. This participation follows the Society’s admission as an International Associate Member of the EFP in 2023.
The SSPI was represented by an official delegation from the Board of Directors, and over 50 Saudi participants attended the congress. During the opening ceremony, the Saudi flag was raised among the flags of the member countries — a symbolic moment reflecting the Kingdom’s growing international recognition in the field of periodontology and implant dentistry.
Throughout the congress, the SSPI Board members held multiple side meetings with representatives of international associations and organizations to explore avenues for collaboration and knowledge exchange. Additionally, they met with several global companies in the fields of oral health and implant dentistry to discuss future partnerships and support opportunities.
The Society was also represented in a number of official meetings held on the sidelines of the congress. Dr. Adnan Al-Moghlouth represented the SSPI at the EFP Ambassadors Meeting, while Prof. Hamdan Al-Ghamdi participated in the editorial board meeting of the Journal of Clinical Periodontology (JCP).
A number of Saudi dentists, both male and female, contributed actively to the scientific program by presenting diverse research and clinical papers, highlighting the Kingdom’s growing academic and scientific excellence in periodontology and implant dentistry.
EuroPerio11 provided an outstanding platform for the exchange of expertise and experiences, and an opportunity to build strategic partnerships between scientific societies and professionals from around the world.
