Y-SSPI Clinical Case Competition
Young Saudi Symposium of Periodontology & Implant Dentistry
“Where Future Leaders Rise”
The Saudi Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry (SSPI) is pleased to announce the Y-SSPI Clinical Case Competition, an educational initiative designed to support, inspire, and showcase young periodontists and implant dentists from all nationalities and from around the world.
This competition focuses exclusively on clinical excellence, sound decision-making, and presentation skills, providing an international platform for young clinicians to present real-world cases and grow as future leaders in periodontology and implant dentistry.
ELIGIBILITY
- Periodontology residents (any nationality)
- Fellows and postgraduate students (any nationality)
- Recent graduates within 2 years (as determined by SSPI) (any nationality)
- Active SSPI members
SCOPE OF CLINICAL CASES
Submissions must be clinical cases only, within one or more of the following areas:
- Periodontology
- Implant dentistry
- Hard and soft tissue regeneration
- Mucogingival surgery
- Esthetic periodontology
- Perio-prosthetic and implant-prosthetic rehabilitation
- Management of complications and interdisciplinary cases
- Digital applications in periodontology and implant dentistry
COMPETITION STRUCTURE
Phase 1 – Abstract Submission
- Submission of a clinical case abstract supported by clinical photographs
- Abstracts must be no more than 500 words
- Abstracts should clearly outline the main topic of the presentation, its structure, and the key points to be discussed
Phase 2 – Short Video Presentation
- Shortlisted candidates will submit a recorded video presentation (5 minutes)
- The video must clearly show the participant and the presentation
- Video submission links will be uploaded through the SSPI website
Phase 3 – Final Live Competition
- Top 15 finalists will present during an official SSPI scientific event
- 15 minutes presentation + 5 minutes discussion
IMPORTANT DATEs:
- Abstract Submission Deadline: Tuesday, 11 August 2026
- Notification of Acceptance/Rejection: Via email within 3 weeks after the submission deadline.
- Submission of Short Video presentation: September 13 to 17, 2026
- Announcement of Finalists: September–October 2026
- Presentation Date: November 11, 2026
AWARDS
All finalists will receive:
- Free registration for SaudiPerio 5
- Official SSPI certificates of participation
🏆 Winners will be invited to present their cases at #SaudiPerio6 (2028).
IMPORTANT NOTEs:
- This competition is dedicated exclusively to clinical case presentations.
- Research-only projects, laboratory studies, and published academic papers are not part of Y-SSPI. These submissions will be included in separate scientific poster competitions, which will be announced and conducted independently during the conference.
- Travel and accommodation expenses are not covered by SSPI. All participants are responsible for their own travel and lodging arrangements.
- Cases must demonstrate clear diagnosis, treatment planning, execution, outcomes, and sound clinical reasoning.
